Mattermost is a self hosted slack alternative.
However, it comes with very limited metrics (only total number of messages/user/teams) and some usage stats but only a point per day. They do have more metrics in their enterprise edition apparantly, but since it uses a database, it's easy to extract the data you want... hence this collector.
